Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky

Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky is a famous Russian novelist who wrote a great number of philosophic novels. Actually, Dostoevsky performed a revolution in the Russian literature. First he was called as "the second Gogol", indeed Dostoevsky was fond of Gogol's novel and, may be, Gogol may be considered as the teacher of Dostoevsky. Still, as someone said "The bad student that isn't surpass his teacher", Dostoevsky wasn't a bad student, he may not surpassed his teacher but definitely worked up his own style and is not worse than Gogol. Moreover, in his novels Dostoevsky just like Gogol revealed terrible realities of his time, realities that remained unnoticed before or simply wasn't considered as such that is necessary to describe. Unlike the Gogol Dostoevsky examined and described his characters from the more psychological point of view, unlike Gogol Dostoevsky has always paid a great attention to their inner motives and feeling.
His first novel Dostoevsky wrote at the age of 20 as he was studying at the academy at father's insistence. That was the famous "The Poor People" narrative that stroked the imagination and exceeded the expectations of the great authors of those times, those who read it. They were stroked with the fact that such a young thing is able to feel and realise the sufferings people undergoes in their lives. Such ability of delicate sense of humans' souls may be resulted by the childhood of the writer. Dostoevsky was a son of retired military doctor who grew up his children in the strict spirit of obedience and rare let them go out of the hospital, so Dostoevsky cognized the world through narrations of the patients whom he communicated with. Such lack of information turned Dostoevsky into careful listener and provided him with an ability of delicate feeling of the people and intonation and ability to see things that was hidden behind the curtains of behaviour and words.
Dostoevsky was of rather delicate nature, he sharply felt everything that surrounded him, the nature of the life, the feelings people have about this life and the pain stuck somewhere deep inside of their souls and hearts. Later such delicacy of his soul resulted epilepsy. Dostoevsky suffered with epilepsy since that day when his father died and till the very end of his life. Maybe such delicacy of his soul was the reason of the epilepsy but it also was a reason of appearance of such masterpieces as his novels, masterpieces that reveals the most secret corners and feelings of humans' souls. Dostoevsky changed the whole mood of the Russian literature by his novels and his novel are eternal and is being read all over the world, as it's a perfect source of information that helps to understand people and their motives for one or another deeds.
